These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of VidRand (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use VidRand.

The Service

VidRand is a free tool that helps you discover YouTube videos and channels. You select interests and a video length, and VidRand returns a randomly-selected set of matching, embeddable YouTube videos. VidRand does not host any video content; all videos are provided by YouTube and played through YouTube’s embedded player.

YouTube API Services

VidRand uses YouTube API Services to provide its functionality. By using VidRand, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. You also acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy, which governs how Google handles information in connection with those services.

Video content, channel information, thumbnails, view counts, and other data displayed by VidRand are the property of YouTube, the respective content creators, or their licensors, and are subject to YouTube’s terms and policies.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates the YouTube Terms of Service or any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to scrape, harvest, cache, or store data obtained through the Service except as permitted by YouTube’s policies.
• Use automated means to access the Service, overload our infrastructure, or circumvent our rate limits or other protections.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems.
• Use the Service to infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any party.

Intellectual property

The VidRand name, design, and original code are owned by VidRand. These Terms do not grant you any right to use VidRand’s branding without our permission. All third-party content remains the property of its respective owners.

Third-party content and links

The Service surfaces and links to content hosted on YouTube and to third-party channels and websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, and the appearance of any video or channel in VidRand is not an endorsement of it.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the videos surfaced will be accurate, appropriate, or available. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VidRand and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VidRand and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or restrict access to the Service at any time, including for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or harms the Service or other users.
